@jon-nyc 's comment about the Gershwin piano concerto got me to thinking.
A few years ago, at the Chicago Symphony, I heard the Ravel piano concerto for the left hand. Being the Neanderthal I am, I'd never heard it before.
I was flabbergasted.
What a masterpiece.
Is there any "classical" piece that you know is in "the repertoire," but have never heard before and loved?

Not sure if I understand, are you looking for:
- Classical pieces we know exist in the repertoire …
- But have never heard until well into our adulthood …
- And loved them after we have heard them?
