    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/03/20/clarenc-thomas-hospitalized-infection/

ustice Clarence Thomas, the longest-serving member of the Supreme Court, is hospitalized with an infection and being treated with intravenous antibiotics, the Supreme Court announced Sunday night.
Thomas, 73, was admitted to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington Friday evening, according to the release, with flu-like symptoms.
“He underwent tests, was diagnosed with an infection, and is being treated with intravenous antibiotics,” the release said. “His symptoms are abating, he is resting comfortably, and he expects to be released from the hospital in a day or two.”
The court holds oral arguments Monday through Wednesday this week, but it does not sound as if Thomas will take part remotely.
“Justice Thomas will participate in the consideration and discussion of any cases for which he is not present on the basis of the briefs, transcripts, and audio of the oral arguments,” the release said.

"An infection" is probably not COVID-19 if they're treating it with antibiotics, unless it's a "superinfection" on top of COVID-19.

      Kidney?

      Pneumonitis?

      Something GI related?

I think it’s counterproductive when they don’t say what it really is.

Like obits of youngish people that make no
        mention of cause of death.

Yes. It invites all kinds of speculation.

Imagine, that is genuinely her trying to maintain the high road. These are the limits of the much touted and indeed identity forming “compassion” people like her are so proud of themselves for. Scratch the surface and they’re a primate just like everybody else.

                      He's sick.

Consider the age. Consider IV antibiotic use. consider the media has been whuppin' up on his wife causing additional stress. Consider he's a Supreme and they don't get the rush that most of us do to get discharged.

If Justice Thomas joins RBG during Mr. Biden's term, I assume he will be replaced by someone of the correct color and gender.

                        Is that a good assumption?

I was inpatient on IV antibiotics for two weeks. Then had to take superantibiotic infusions that lasted two weeks each. Infections can be tough to clear.
