A lot of the protesters are trying to self-police. Hell, a lot of the police are trying to self-police. Which you're also not going to hear from the news.

NS is a perfect example of a person who believes what he believes because it makes him feel morally superior. It's at a level he's incapable of accessing consciously, but it is just fun for him to go around believing he's a good person surrounded by evil.
