An easy and unfalsifiable dig at Trump from Bolton, who has made no secret of how much he detests the orange menace.

And yet agreed to work in the administration for 17 months so he could set the country on the right track write a book.

      Edit to add...

I think Bolton's a smart guy and much of his thinking aligns with my own. However, reading his book "The Room Where it Happened," stuck me as being full of irrelevant and forgettable names, and inside baseball gossip.

Though I agree that Trump was is very much a loose cannon, I lost a lot of respect for Teh 'Stache when I read his book. It was just another "insider" tell-all.

        @Larry

And at this very minute in time, if you say "if Trump had stayed in office Putin wouldn't be doing what he's doing" they laugh and call you an idiot. They still don't get it..

Was watching an interview with John Bolton this morning on BBC. He stated that if Trump were still in office, Putin would have invaded Ukraine six months ago.

Wonder why he would think that?

Bolton is more full of shit than a Christmas turkey and has been for quite sometime.

What was holding Putin back 15 months ago?

If you believe, as I do, that this "special military operation" was planned for a long time, probably since 2014, I don't see any difference in strategic ability between 2020 and 2022.

          Is there?

          Why now?

Valid questions. No easy answer since it would involve getting into “Smeagle’s” head.

Yes, saying what would have happened if Presdient Trump was still president is impossible.

On on side, President Trump (in my thinking) moved the US back more into an isolationist type of mentality. So, President Putin would have probably done the same thing, maybe even earlier, thinking that the US would have a minimal response and would not have wanted to get involved at all in another foreign conflict. US relations with NATO countries were strained also

On the other side, President Putin may be like a lot of criminals - he thinks he is the smartest guy in the room, so he doesnt really care what is happening outside the bubble of Russia. He is going to do what he is going to do, regardless.

No real comment other than to remember the comment:

Mr. Trump is still the outsider, this is good.

His life experience is so different from most career politicians.

They are, of course, jealous of him.

                Sad

Because Bolton is a war hog who got pissed off at Trump because Trump wouldn't let him start a war. One of the decisions Trump made that I had a problem with was giving that snot slinging weasel a job.
