On some level, I dont understand why some weapons are okay but others are not.
The objective is to kill people. Yes, I know some are more accurate than others, but......
It just seems like they are saying, "good job if you kill somebody (or blow off their legs) this way. Bad job if you blow off their legs this way"

Agreed. To describe how you kill people as a war crime as opposed to whether you kill people is silly.
This goes back to the thinking of Gatling, who assumed that his gun would be more "humane" than standard firearms.
I suppose you could draw the line at whether a weapon causes suffering before it causes death (chemical, biological and nuclear weapons), but, beyond that, I really don't get it.
If your goal is to kill the enemy, well, we're arguing about price, right?

Chemical weapons are considered verboten, I assume by treaty. So are hollowpoint bullets.

US sending jets to Ukraine = Escalation
US sending jets to Poland who sends jets to Poland ≠ Escalation?

Only if they are re-termed as "area denial weapons".

They’re effective. Ukraine should use them with extreme prejudice.
