Repairing Chonda and weedeater carbs? I've quit. Ain't worth the time, effort or money. Nowadays, I chunk 'em. Replacement carbs are just too cheap.

I've replaced carbs on an ECHO weedeater (thank you, SIL) and an old Mantis two-stroke. The Mantis is the one that taught me a lesson...I took that tiller to a small engine repair shop and it cost me over $100. Next time I had a carb problem (thank you, Democrats for our crappy gas), I replaced the carb for $15.

Right now, I've got a Powermate RTT with a set of floats hung up in the carb. Clean it and hope for the best? Nah. Just checked and a new carb and gaskets is $13.99/free shipping.

I used to use my FIL's Mantis. Nice machine. Handy.

Now all my power stuff is electric. I don't use it enough to mess with gas powered.

And while we're at it...For my 2-cycle stuff, I've gone to all synthetic 2-cycle oil and non-ethanol gas. Solves most of the problems. If I can't get non-ethanol gas , I run premium.

Word of caution, though...Stihl Ultra is a very good 2-cycle oil, but...If your motor is idling a lot or you don't run it pretty wide open (you shouldn't lug 2-cycles), the Stihl oil will sludge a bit. Otherwise, I've run gas made up with it for six months with no problems at all....

Our vehicles are all synthetic now. I think they last longer, especially since we do more short driving now.

My garden is too big. The row crop garden is 1/4 acre. Then, I have 3-4 raised beds to take care of.

Well, they can't hoe a row, so they get no vote.
