So he’s pointing towards a guerrilla war, too. Great. Small comfort for the days and weeks ahead.

I will say though that everyone keeps pointing out the total size of Russian forces, but Russia can’t deploy all of those forces. There are limits, and the Ukrainians are on home turf and fighting for their existence.

I wonder if we will see a Ukrainian attack on Russia?

Russia better hope there's not a couple of old nuke warheads sitting in the back of a warehouse.

the Ukrainians are on home turf and fighting for their existence.

The other thing to remember is how freaking BIG that country is. It's Texas-sized. If you're going to take care of the soldiers on the ground, you better have good supply lines. You're gonna need munitions, fuel, food...

There's a target for any guerrilla campaign.

Yeah, I thought of leftover nukes too, Jolly.

I kind of focus on the will part. I cannot help but wonder what the Russian soldiers think of this. Do they believe in what they are doing? Certainly, the Ukrainians will.

One might believe they would have thought better of this after Afghanistan. But I suppose that is ancient history to the current administration.

I read one story about a Russian soldier who was doing reconnaissance. He was captured, and I believe one of his comrades was killed.

He was totally surprised, "I thought I was going to get information, I never expected people to die."

Even if there are left-over nukes, would they still be operational after so many years, with presumably no access to replacement parts etc.?

Or a skillset to operate them. Though, I suppose a Zoom meeting might take care of that.

                        Ok, that made me laugh.
