I don't know beans about horses, except what kind of hay to feed them and how to use the apples they produce.

I was in Tractor Supply today, and I thought of George as I cut through a horsey aisle with lead ropes, halters and spurs. And then I thought of him again, as I noticed bins of Coflex.

What the heck do you do on a horse that needs rolls of Coflex?

Coflex is a name I'd never heard before. But, up here, it's called "VetWrap."

In the OR, we called it CoBan.

It's a great dressing for all kinds of wounds. If a horse had an injury to his legs, or if you wanted to keep a poultice applied to an abscess, VetWrap is the way to go. Some people also use it to wrap the horse's tail after grooming so that it doesn't get tangled.

But, as I said last month, it's a great dressing for just about anything.

Nah, he used "Coban." It's "medical grade," so they can charge more for it, you know.

Coban = with latex
Coflex = latex free

Outward appearance the same, same use in the lab (post-phlebotomy), Coflex costs a wee bit more.
