damn and I thought this was a thread about which whiskeys go with a nice beer.
I actually like that combo. At home on pizza night is usually a scotch next to the beer. And since pizza night is often Saturday night like tonight I’ll think it will be an abelour with a local brew, goldstar unfiltered.

White House national-security adviser Jake Sullivan said Americans should leave Ukraine immediately amid the threat of an imminent Russian invasion, warning that the U.S. military will not be able to evacuate citizens in the event of a war.
“We encourage all American citizens who remain in Ukraine to depart immediately,” Sullivan told reporters at a White House press conference. “We want to be crystal clear on this point. Any American in Ukraine should leave as soon as possible, and in any event in the next 24 to 48 hours.”

The Irish Pub I frequented used to have “collar” combos. A White Collar was a Smithwick’s and Jameson. A Blue Collar was Budweiser and Jack Daniels. There were a few others that I can’t remember. Sadly, the pub didn’t survive COVID.

Hmm, a bit too early to say I think. I will admit that i have only been following the situation there from the major news stories and dont have any background, but I am not sure what could have/should have been done differently to this point.
(I do know that Taiwan is watching this with great interest to see how the western powers react to an invasion)
