Even Gronk is a Bengals fan

And maybe a Cincinnati resident soon

As much as I like him, he's too old and we don't really need another tight end. Especially not at his price. This team is building for long term success.

I can guess why PA and Maryland are pulling for the Rams… If it wasn’t for Karla, I would probably be ambivalent. I don’t care for how the Rams have spent their way to the Super Bowl the same way that Tampa has..

Transforming this from a Bengals v Rams thread to a General Football thread to avoid annoying those members who do not wish to be inundated with posts about the wonders of football.

JoeBucsFan's column today discusses the MVP. MVP remains one of many sub-topics I know nothing about, so I offer it up to you: Which?
            https://www.joebucsfan.com/2022/02/if-aaron-rodgers-wins-this-tom-brady-got-snubbed-he-got-robbed/

I like JBF and learn a lot, especially from the commenters who seem to be pretty savvy. Like this one: "How can [Brady] not win? He was absolutely hands down the most valuable player on his team. He ➡ overcame a depleted roster and some questionable play calling to take the Bucs within minutes of the NFC championship game. He just ran out of time."

Remember when he yelled No, NO! at Leftwich?

            Anyway, what do y'all think?

Transforming this back from General Football thread to a Bengals Super Bowl thread, Brady is no longer a factor. It's all Joe and Matt.

But, to your point, why should Brady be MVP? He didn't even get them to the final four, plus he retired. These accolades are just to pump up the game. The NFL reaps nothing by naming Brady MVP.

From the way the column was written, I assumed Brady and Rodgers were a done deal for finalists.

But, to your point, why should Brady be MVP? He didn't even get them to the final four, plus he retired. <

He went as far as he could for this season, so I'm not getting why his retirement should affect anything.

So you agree with the commenter who advocates that MVP selection should be restricted to the current season? That makes sense to me. Otherwise I don't know enough to comment further.

Mr. Brady certainly has a good case.

It would be hard to argue against him. But mvp is not usually a sure thing.

Brady doesn’t even make the top 5 this year. Rodgers, Burrow, Prescott, Stafford, and even Kirk Cousins had better seasons and most of them had fewer weapons. Brady was fine, but not MVP caliber.

Watching the awards show. Glad for Chase and Burrow, but what a circle jerk.

Former Bengal Andrew Whitworth got the Walter Payton. His speech was worth watching the whole show for.

I have no skin in this matchup

But I will admit, as a child growing up in New York City, I was not a Jets fan, I was not a Giants fan. I worshipped the Rams. The fearsome foursome, (Grier, Olsen Lundy and especially Deacon Jones) , the QB Roman Gabriel, they were my heroes. I can’t explain why

Maybe I think I just loved their helmets with the rams horn.

Now I could not care less of the rams, but they are not evil incarnate. They are wonderful memories. God I sound old….
