I dunno why this is so controversial.

Index funds still let people invest. I’m not allowed to buy a huge portion of the F500 - that’s common across many industries where corporations are clients.

It’s only controversial to the congressmen who can profit from their inside information and don’t want to give up the opportunity.

Seems like it makes perfect sense. Index funds, blind trust, etc. would work if they want to be involved in the stock market.
