          As a point of reference, that 1/48 model is about 12-15 inches long. That's just an off-the-cuff guess based on my experience with 1/48 models, years ago.

          Airfix, a very reputable model company, also sells 1/24 scale models. Try to imagine that - two feet long.

          You can find this guy's build of a 1/24 model on his YouTube channel.

            I have no experience beyond age 12 but that’s certainly how it appears to me.
