I can only assume you and others your side of the 49th weren’t copied on the memo. The protesters parade and demonstration permit - if the stunned cunts even took the time and effort to draw one from the municipal authorities - did not include setting up and operating a midway in the middle of downtown Ottawa streets. Sorry for your inconvenience.
In case you’re wondering, that was some snark of my own. I don’t need internet memes or emoticons to express my intentions.
That's funny - just yesterday there was a court case where the Canadian government put all their cards on the table in front of a judge, and the judge ruled that the only thing he could find was the he'd prefer they didn't honk their horns at night. Seems like improper permits would have been brought up at the hearing...

Wikipedia's introduction:
Freedom Convoy (French: Convoi de la Liberté) is an ongoing protest in Canada against COVID-19 vaccine requirements for truckers to re-enter the country by land introduced by the government of Canada on January 15, 2022. Originally composed of several routes traversing all of the Canadian provinces, the truck convoys converged on Ottawa on January 29, 2022, with a rally at Parliament Hill.[16] The trucking convoys were then joined by pedestrian protesters.[6] The protest continued into February.[17][18][19] Protesters have stated that they will not leave until all COVID-19 restrictions and mandates have been repealed, and some have called for the federal government to be overthrown.[20]
Both Canada and the United States accommodated unvaccinated cross-border truckers with an exemption from the new COVID-19 regulations implemented by both countries in the fall of 2021, to prevent supply chain disruptions. The exemptions for Canadian truckers ended on January 15, 2022, and the United States Department of Homeland Security exemption ended a week later on January 22, 2022. The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) estimates that 85% of the 120,000 Canadian truck drivers are already vaccinated against COVID-19,[21] and that these mandates would potentially impact 26,000 of the 160,000 drivers in both the United States and Canada who regularly cross the border.[22]
The convoy has been condemned by trucking industry groups,[23][24] and the Canadian Trucking Alliance reported that a large number of protesters had no connection to trucking.[25] On January 27, Prime Minister Trudeau said that almost 90% of Canadians were vaccinated, as were many truckers in Canada, and that a "small fringe minority of people" in the convoy do not "represent the views of Canadians."[26] A January 29 CTA statement cautioned the public that a "great number of protestors" with no connection to the trucking industry "have a separate agenda beyond a disagreement over cross border vaccine requirements."
Several politicians and media sources raised concerns that organizers and groups involved with the protest have had involvement with white nationalism, racism, Islamophobia, the QAnon conspiracy theory, and far-right groups, including those who promote violence.[27] Illegal acts committed by protesters drew widespread condemnation. Protesters were seen desecrating the statue of national hero Terry Fox, the National War Memorial, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Several emergency vehicles were attacked with rocks, and an attempt was made to set a fire in an apartment building.[28][29][30]
What a treasure trove of weasel words.

He’s not wholly incorrect there are a few waving swastikas . Lot’s of yelling although horn honking has abated. Majority had upside down Canadian flags, others Gadsden and Confederate flags, a few had the Stars and Stripes. Why there were even several “Trump in 2024”!
But honestly I really don’t care or am all that interested what the PM says. I didn’t vote for his Party, and I would never consider voting for him if he were running for election in the riding I live. I admired his father, but he not his father any more than Dan Quayle was John Kennedy.
Maybe you should edit the Wikipedia article so that it is more to your liking and taste.

Does the reactionary nonsense and hyperbole come natural to you or do you have to work at it?
Seriously, I am glad to see the police finally taking action to end this and send these yobs packing. So are most sensible people in this country.
No, the sensible people in your country are out trying to protect their freedom. You on the other hand apparently have no problem with your government putting snipers on rooftops, swat teams, and hundreds of police stealing the food and fuel from peaceful citizens to starve them and freeze them out.
Nothing reactionary or hyperbolic about what I said at all. In fact, your freedom loving brethren are inspiring people all over the western world. If your pathetic Trudeau keeps stepping on his dick the way he has been doing, Canada might just provide the spark needed to put down your brand of politics once and for all all around the west. And that would be a wonderful thing.
Other than identifying these yobs as sensible people, you’re probably right. I, in fact, do not have a problem or any issue with the deployment of police tactical squad snipers on rooftops surrounding the protesters on Parliament Hill. Nor do I have a problem with the police obstruction and confiscation of fuel and food supply. I am pleased to no end that that the Ontario Government and the Police are finally doing something to bring this to an end. They ought to have been taking these measures from the onset.
Contrary to what you may be led to believe - and it is obvious to me that you and others (cute picture of the Dauphin you posted, Jolly) in the US have been misled to believe a lot of disinformation - management of such matters here in Canada, is under municipal and provincial jurisdiction. The federal government can only become directly involved if requested by the affected provincial government and the latter has demonstrated all its available resources have been exhausted. That, is how our Constitution works, that is how our Confederation operates.
“Freedom loving brethren” ? Get off my lawn. You’re at it again. I’m now convinced you do not have to work at it.
I see the problem. You actually like not being free. Tell me - when your government trains its snipers on you, when your government accuses you of things you aren't guilty of and send swat teams after you, try to goad you into fighting bsck.... when your government steals your food and shut your power off hoping you'll freeze or starve to death.... Will you finally admit your rights and freedoms are being taken from you, or will you just bend over and take it like a good little socialist?
You don't really need to respond, I already know your answer.

Yes and I also served five years in the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserve. I even received a commission. It helped put me through university and served me well in my civilian career.
So what’s your fucking point, asshole?

The point, motherfucker, is that you are predisposed to central government authority. I've seen you wax nostalgic more than one time on the strong government stance of the Russians

Lad, you couldn't find frost in Canada.
Y'all keep going, and you won't find freedom, either.

Well Beauregard, I wouldn’t want to live under your version of freedom in the first place. And as to not finding frost up here….I never thought you to be so thick headed.
No surprise BTW, that Kenny and Moe eased their restrictions. We knew Kenny was going to do it before the protests even started. He is disliked across the spectrum and is faced with being thrown out by his Party in April when his leadership will be put to review. Right now he doing everything he can to ward off being dismissed. In any case what he introduced yesterday doesn’t affect Alberta Health Care workers, private and public, who remain under a provincial vaccine mandate order. But no question the protesters in Coutts blocking the US border cowed him but good to move up his easing restrictions timetable to yesterday.
