On a more serious note “mama” is probably the easiest sound an infant can make when developing language so it’s no surprise the M based words sprout from the proto Indo European.
And I’m sure it’s true also in non Indo European languages. Semitic languages certainly (imah in Hebrew, um in Arabic ) and I bet also in ancient Sumerian or Akkadian.
