Yeah, I grew up on the fake stuff but can’t do it now. The real stuff is pricey, but I don’t eat enough of it to notice. Usually a tablespoon or two in a recipe.

    Only non-witches get due process.

Makes a bigger difference in cooking than pancakes I think. I always have both. My uncle makes his own and gives me some.

Go to a pure blue ribbon cane syrup. No, it's not maple, but it's light years ahead of the corn syrup crap.

Like I said, I didn’t notice the difference when I switched to the maple. There was no moment where I said “Wow!” In fact, I was disappointed that I didn’t notice a bigger difference. It was going back where I noticed…

Yes, for those of unrefined palate.

I've been through Canada. Food is hot, brown and plenty of it. Seasoning is mostly unheard of, except in an urban setting in an immigrant community. Sweet Jesus, they even put butter on sandwiches, no less!

Maple syrup is ok, but real syrup...Well, if you mix real syrup half and half with Jersey cow cream in an eight inch plate, then drag a cathead biscuit through it, the biscuit will tear in half before reaching the other side of the plate.

Get yourself a couple of those, a six inch piece of smoked link and a half-dozen fresh rooster bullets, and you will immediately acquire a steely gaze, a stiffer spine, somewhat courteous manners and an overwhelming urge to whistle Dixie.

Seems pretty sure of himself, there, Aqua. Might wanna back off.

Conventional wisdom these days says refined sugar is not as healthy; unrefined is better.
