Apple Broke PDF Again (rant)

Same PDF file printed to the same printer using Apple's "Preview" application shipped with OS X / macOS.
On the left is the one printed through AirPrint on a Mac running macOS Monterey (12.0.1). Fonts wrong, character spacings are wrong, does not look at all like when the file is displayed on the screen.
On the right is the one printed through Dell's native driver on a Mac running OS X El Capitan (10.11). Looks very much like when the file is displayed on the screen.
From macOS Monterey, I cannot even print via Dell's native driver -- the printer would give me only one page with error messages.
This is not the first time I run into an issue like this. This is just the latest example. Bad Apple!

I haven't found any pdf program that will print all pdfs correctly. There's always the occasional pdf that will only print correctly using Adobe, or Skim, or Foxit...
Adobe's viewer is probably the one with the highest probability of printing correctly, but I deeply hate that program otherwise.

Got another instance of Apple's newer macOS not printing PDF correctly.
This time it is missing symbols/punctuations like the "&" ampersand and the "." period.
The problematic system this time is an M1 iMac running macOS 14.2.1 "Sonoma," and yes that's the most up-to-date macOS generally available. The document displays fine on the screen but then when printed the "&" and "." punctuations are missing. The "." is rather important when printing financial reports.
Went to print the same PDF file using an old OS X "El Capitan" Mac and all is well.
