    Ossobuco with polenta.
wine was a chateau neuf de pape.
Barenboim playing Beethoven sonatas on the sound system. Nice atmosphere for last meal of 2021.

Saving the bubbles for tomorrow lunch.
Because I sincerely doubt I’ll stay up until midnight.

One of my favorite dinners and one I have cooked many times. My daughter requested in this last week but I couldn't find any decent veal shanks.

Besides the meat on the bone we usually throw in a few extra marrow bones.
The marrow spoon is for scooping it out

I have some cut beef marrow bones in the freezer and some foie gras. Next week I plan to make a dinner for friends with Beef Wellington and marrow bones as the appetizer.

          Yum.

Well, you hoity-toity fellers need to stop by some ol' black lady's home one day when she's cooking pork backbone, collards and cornbread.

It'll run that ossified bookus a good race...😛
