Is Manchin an endangered species?

Manchin is not a Republican. He has many positions that many in the GOP would vehemently disagree with. But he is a lot of what the Dems used to be...A little left of center, but willing to be pragmatic as needed.
Did Manchin just save the Dems from themselves? A needed recalibration? Or is he just a speed-bump on the fastlane to the Far Left?

I hope he spurs a revival of sane Democrats, just as I hope for the GOP.

@mik said in Is Manchin an endangered species?:
I hope he spurs a revival of sane Democrats, just as I hope for the GOP.
The problem seems to be that the most noise is made by people who don't think the Democrats are nuts, and a corresponding number of people who don't think the GOP are nuts. Both groups are happy to acknowledge that the other lot are a bunch of howling loons, but both also suffer from an inability to look in the mirror and see the gibbering maniac staring back at them.

How about if we just call all the wackos on either side AINO?

Never heard of her, but it seems that she is someone who is not too extreme on either side. However, she has decided not to continue her run in Congress.
So, maybe people like her are vanishing

No, she understands that 2022 is going to be a historic bloodbath, maybe of 1994 proportions. She's also a blue dawg, so I'm wondering if she's already polled her district's voters, and knows she doesn't have a chance.
