Yep, I've read about the war gaming stuff and it's frightening.

I am talking about a defeat that will eliminate our freedom and permanently subordinate America to Communist China and its demands for absolute control and obedience.

        permanently

        That is a long time

I’m sure the the threat is real, but I also can’t help cynically wondering if this is Newt starting up his next failed election campaign.

          I was only joking

It's a better issue on a national level than wokeness.

It is, but as always with Romney you’re left wondering what he really believes, if anything.

Now don’t get me wrong he did a nice job as Massachusetts governor. I kind think maybe he should have stuck with that job.

I just don't see how the US and China can fight directly without it turning into doomsday.

How do you have a gentleman's war in this day and age.

When's the last time nuclear armed solders fired a shot at each other?

Bloody hell, look at me, confusing Gingrich and Romney. I think it's because they've both got silly first names 😆

I was actually reading it, thinking 'This doesn't sound like Romney at all' 😆

                    I'm a moron, clearly.

Only one of those sides were nuclear armed.

In 50 years of belligerent expansion by the Soviets, we never directly fought with them.

Why would we fight with China?

But, I did answer my own question after asking it. India and China have minor border skirmishes here and there. Which is kinda insane.

Also which war would we most want China / U.S. to resemble in terms of cost benefit?

Past performance does not guarantee future results, but the biggies have been:
                          -Civil War
                          -WW1
                          -WW2
                          -Korea
                          -Vietnam
                          -Middle East wars

                          Pick your poison.

We came within a gnat's ass of eradicating the Soviet Union from the face of the earth. Nuclear-armed bombers were already in route to their destinations, the second wave of bombers was already fueled, armed and sitting on the tarmac. The silos were dialed in, awaiting final launch codes. The situation was Defcon 2 for the USAF. All naval and army assets were at Defcon 3.

BTW, the U.S. was not just going to nuke the U.S.S.R. China was going to be a smoking, radioactive Hell, before the day was over. Every communist country on the face of the earth capable of harming America had at least one nuke headed their way. The U.S. had determined that whatever remained of America would not be attacked by any remnant of any communist country capable of hurting us.

Right - maybe that insanity should teach us that avoiding war is the best investment. What a calamity that would have been.

What’s so bad in our world today that we would even entertain that outcome as a realistic possibility?

If we think that’s even a remote possibility - shouldn’t we be doing everything in our power to build better relations?

that is why it is so important that the US look outward rather than inward.

Very very important to engage with other countries at times like this. Isolationism would be the wrong response at a time like this.
