The cake everyone loves to hate. Except me.

But my favorite was the Jane Parker fruitcakes from long defunct A&P stores. Turns out they are making the Jane Parker cakes again from the original recipe. It's a real childhood memory for me. Hope they are as good as I remember them. They were nice and moist, and the fruit and nuts were delicious.

I sent one to both my brothers and got one for us.

The cake arrived right after dinner. It was EXACTLY my childhood memory.

            I’m a happy camper.

I was always "meh" for fruitcake. DIdn't hate it, but wouldn't buy it either.

              I'm happy you're happy.

My mum used to make wonderful fruitcakes - at Christmas it would always be a traditional British Christmas cake - essentially heavy fruitcake with icing.

She didn't cook much that was fancy, but she made awesome fruitcake, and something we call parkin, which is a kind of gingerbread cake made with treacle and molasses - traditional in Lancashire and Yorkshire.

                  I was only joking

We usually get panettone from Italy this time of year
