Resistance Journalism

Overall, a good article and has a lot of truth.
But by the way it was written and only focusing on the "anti Trump" conspiracy theories, it loses some credible. It would have been better if it also included conservative side conspiracy theories that have been promoted. Showing only one side just reinforces the whole situation.

More "us vs them" shit that doesn't do anybody any good.
The article is reporting correctly. Resistance journalism is absolutely a Thing. But the only reason it persists on CNN, NYT and the Atlantic is because it's a financially viable journalistic perspective. True Believers write the crap, and senior editors run the stories because they know that it'll help them win the attention grab.
Not only does NYT have to compete with CNN for your attention, it now has to compete with Instagram, Facebook, and Candy Crush. They need higher emotional stakes to give you a reason to pay the subscription fee, or see the ads on the page.
I mean if we all want to bitch about MSM, I've got a load of threads from 2008 we can all take a look at. They're already written and they'd save us all a lot of time. If we want to talk about solutions, which would be more helpful, then that's a revenue model discussion.

Of course it is. The industry has completely imploded.
