I work with a lot of overseas customers, many of whom are having massive problems. I'm probably stating the obvious, but this is a global issue, not a US-based one.

    I was only joking

The cheapest price we could find to ship a few pounds of Christmas gifts to New Zealand this year was $80.

      Forget it.

We found a place that allows us to ship a large suitcase to the UK as 'luggage', so Mrs. Phibes filled it with Christmas presents - it cost about $100, so it doesn't really work for a small number items, but the wife buys freaking tons of stuff for her family.

My brother and I by gifts 'on behalf of ' one another, which makes a lot more sense IMHO.

The article did cover that. Quite a bit.

Agree. Same with gas prices. They are up all over the world. It is not a US-only problem.

(I am a dead horse, but it gets back to what I have said before - in many cases, the US presidents get too much credit when things are going well, and too much blame when they are going bad.)

TG you might have a point if Biden had not implemented policies that limited production.

Just curious, what policies are you thinking of with that comment?

I think the production problems are more to do with an inability to import parts.

Blaming Joe Biden for this situation is like blaming Donald Trump for Covid. He's not exactly helping, but he's not the main cause, or even in the top 5.

I think Mik was referring to oil and gas production. In any case, Biden’s policies on domestic production have only had a marginal effect on the world energy market.

                      Elbows up!

That may be true, but under the circumstances poor optics.
