Ethics aside:
100g of peanut butter = 597 calories
100g of strip steak = 117 caloriesTo obtain 100g of protein you would need to eat 500 calories of steak or 2600 calories of peanut butter
Eating peanut butter for protein is like eating pizza for its tomato content

Ever check the nutrition facts of plant-based meat? It's worse for you than meat.
Also more expensive these days. Last I checked at a Red Robin restaurant, it charges an extra $4 to swap a beef patty for a plant-based patty for any burger on the menu.

I really wouldn't mind it if it tasted as good. I fact, I might even go for it.
I haven't tasted it, so I can't comment.
But don't tell me it's healthier.

I eat a lot of vegetarian meals (I won't go so far as to call them vegan). If needed, I could go vegan. I might grumble about missing this item or that item, but I would generally get by okay. The one thing that I would never do, however, is eat a plant-based item pretending to be meat... I don't mind a grilled vegetable patty in place of a burger. Portabella burger? Delicious! Miracle Meat? Don't shit on my shoes and tell me it's Shinola... I don't care how it tastes...Tofurkey? Get out of my face...

I would consider it if it was healthier, but it isn't. I also look at the ingredients. One of my general rules is if I don't recognize each ingredient as food in its own right I avoid it. It's not ironclad, but much more often than not we eat only whole foods.

Me too. Portabella burgers rock. My favorite pizza is Margarita. Generally, just let it be what it is - don't try to combine it with all sorts of other crap. For instance, I like tofu. If cooked correctly and of good quality it can be delicious.
