    When is that any different?

Nearly 12% of workers have quit since April
      .
      .
The quit rate in the hotel/restaurant industry was 6.8%, over double the average rate across all industries.
      .
      .
I wonder how many statisticians have quit?

      I was only joking

Are you kidding? Life is great for statisticians right now! I couldn't imagine a better field to be in!

You'd be surprised. My BIL was one of the chief decision analysts for a major pharma firm. He did OK and is now doing a little consulting at astronomical rates. Phd in statistical analysis.

Actuaries are the highest paid CPA's that exist. Their world revolves around stats.

                No, that’s journalism.

There's definitely some shit going on out there. LinkedIn content is changing. Lots more memes and snarky posts about the ridiculousness of the interview process.

For me, the real canaries in the coal mine are the recruiters. Their posts used to be all about helping prospectives appeal to hiring managers. That's now flipped, which I've never, ever seen before.

Mind you my LinkedIn feed is full of desk jockeys so I can't speak to trades, farms, etc. But in my area, some shit is definitely up.

                  Please love yourself.

Oddly enough, I'm intimately acquainted with a large industrial insurance company that doesn't employ a single actuary, and instead uses engineering solutions. They have significantly out-performed companies that use actuaries in loss avoidance. And in that world, loss avoidance is everything.

That's good. Now, how do you use engineers to calculate life expectancy?
