My dad got a park bench dedication for him and my mom, started the process a few years ago and finally it was completed months before he passed. Not much to look at from the front, but the bench faces a beautiful duck pond with a fountain. It's all concrete and will be there forever.
Dogwood Trailblazers was their walking group which they spent a lot of time with in their retirement. The inscription "come grow old with me, the best of life is yet to be", is what my dad wrote to my mom when they semi-retired and moved from WI back to where my Dad grew up in MO/KS. They had 25 good years together there.
