With our current Cook County prosecutor, many would be surprised he was even charged. Perhaps the charge will be dropped or reduced so that he can be home for Christmas.

It's long been known in prison circles that prisoners don't cause as much trouble within the prison after they reach 40 years old. Wonder if that works for some of these guys...No parole until 40.

What is the answer?
Keep them in the jails? Ban all guns? Force everyone to have a gun? More police? Less police? Forced sterilization? More job training? Boot camps? etc
I dont know what the answer is either.

I agree, but I dont think that is the root cause. Putting them in jail AFTER they have committed a violent crime is closing the door on the bar after the animals are gone.
What is the root cause and how to solve it?

For many of those countries, the citizens have little freedom whether they are incarcerated or not.
And if you are incarcerated here you probably have more freedom than a lot of people who are not incarcerated.

Root cause? LBJ - Great Society. LBJ tore black families apart and he knew exactly what he was doing, when he did it. Most of these violent offenders are young black men, growing up in poor neighborhoods with no father.
