I've watched the first 40 minutes...good thing I haven't started drinking my (cheap) Scotch yet. Otherwise I'd be asleep.

It got kind of interesting in the last 20 minutes or so and had a cliffhanger about George, which I thought a very cheap trick. So far unimpressed. I suppose their process, or lack thereof, and seeing them interact is marginally interesting.

              WW1 was more action-packed.

So was the War of the Ring.

Maybe the Uruk-hai will attack in episode 3.

              I was only joking

I was gobsmacked they put that in.

Makes me think Chapman missed his real target.

                  LOL.

THere's no story. It's just a bunch of guys having irrelevant conversations and playing (badly, for the most part) through music, trying to figure it out.

Now I have something to look forward to.

I did find myself falling off to sleep a couple of times. Overall I am enjoying it from a somewhat nostalgic reason but I have to admit to having genuine curiosity and to witness the origins of some pretty cool songs, is well, kind of cool to me. I had no expectations going in so nothing bothers me that much that I won't finish watching the series.

Sorry, just can't begin to enjoy.

In two hours of each video, there's about 15 minutes of storytelling, and 1:45 of the Beatles just "noodling around, " adding the wrong lyrics to songs they'd written in the past, and lots of irrelevant conversation.

I don't doubt that this is how their creative process worked, and I'm impressed with the ease of their musicianship.

But, I still find it boring. I suppose I'll finish, but it's not a "keeper."

I'd have liked it better if they'd not included Yoko screaming, or whatever it was she was doing.

Agreed. It was a painful part of the episode, though thankfully brief.

That said, anything without Yoko Ono is better than anything with Yoko Ono.

                              Anything.

Somewhere I read that Jackson's project had to have Yoko's approval, painting her in a pretty benevolent light. Note the dialog amongst the guys talking about Yoko's influence and presence.

                              That's not an accident.

Did the Billie Preston arrangement really happen like that?

He just drops in, to say hello

                                They show him the piano

                                He plays some chords

George says, "you are in the group"

                                The 5th Beatle

And that piano work that is all over the next 2 albums, I assume that is mostly BP

The Beatles were really pretty goofy.

At the time, I think, the image was more serious, like the music had a profound message. It seems they just wanted chords that didn't hurt your ears and words that rhymed.

And John spent a lot of time just doing silly stuff and acting cute. Ringo and George were saints putting up with all the nonsense.
