People want leadership during a time like this.
I dunno about that. I think it's more important that people feel like soldiers, not victims. Give 'em something important to do, and put them in charge of their own destinies. I think that's really what people want.
That's fair. I think leaders are usually offered a "call to arms" opportunity. Last time something similar happened was perhaps 9/11. That was a literal call to arms - I guess.
But leaders do have the space for a call to action in these situations .
The other country I'm familiar with is Canada. I don't like Trudeau - most conservatives don't, but he got a pretty sizable sentiment boost out of this with a fairly vanilla response. (And I think that guy is in way over his head as well)

WE KNOW YOU DON'T LIKE TRUMP. WE GET IT.
Sadly, Mr. Trump is probably unaware of his posts.
Knowing this, it is more likely he keeps posting this stuff because he doesn't like us.

It's true though. People want leadership during a time like this. They want to know someone is being thoughtful and deliberate. Well, I know I do.
You don't necessarily have to do anything. Trump had a few examples of this - he got the retail CEOs to speak. I thought that was great.
But then he goes and pisses it all away by spewing verbal diarrhea on an almost daily basis. There's no adults in the room, or rather, the baby is in charge of the adults.
So yeah - next pandemic, I don't want a clown to be the face of this.
The problem as I see it, is that you wouldn't know real leadership if it rode up on a white horse and slapped you in the face.
Trump IS real leadership. Probably the first we've had in the White House in your lifetime.

No I wouldn’t, that’d just be fuckin weird. I haven’t even seen a regular horse around here.
