This is a four time murderer dubbed ‘Hannibal the Cannibal’ who will never be released from the reinforced glass cell he is caged in underground.
Robert Maudsley, who developed the nickname by slaughtering child molesters, has been in jail since 1974 and has been branded too dangerous to mix with other prisoners and guards.
The 68-year-old spends 23 hours a day alone, locked inside a glass box beneath the prison, with a table and chair made of compressed cardboard, and a toilet and sink bolted to the floor.
Maudsley was just 21 when he murdered his first victim but has been caged inside a specially made 5.5 metres by 4.5 metres, bullet proof glass cage since 1983.
He went on to kill three other prisoners from inside the jail, which led him to the fate he finds himself in today.

This seems mercilessly vengeful. I get that he's dangerous to others, but you're telling me that the prison has not come up with a less inhumane, but still effective, means of incarcerating this man in the last 47 years?
Are we not better than that?
