I’m guessing the artist and that particular audience member might have been under the influence of psychedelic substances at the time.
Artistically speaking, I’d have more respect for it had the artist did it as part of an original song. But she was just covering another song at the time, one I doubt called for the act.

Holy crap! These guys are awesome! I never heard of them before and pulled up a couple of videos. They rock! I might download a few of their pieces.
