Go here to watch Tim Conway's Emmy acceptance speech. From 0:19 to 1:26.

    Link to video

We see Carol Burnett & the gang in the audience, laughing fit to bust.

Ah, the days when comedians were actually funny.

        @catseye3

One of, if not the funniest. Ensign Parker rules!

Indeed. But the interplay with Corman, Burnett and the rest of the crew made it that much better.

So many episodes where, on the "Carol Burnett Show," they could barely keep it together and not burst out laughing.

I needed a reminder of who Ensign Parker was, so I Googled; that's how I learned that Conway had died. I was unaware. He was 85 and in poor health, but still, I'm feeling sad right now.

            Here's a detailed bio if you're interested: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/tim-conway-dead-carol-burnett-935496/

              "When comedians were funny."

Look at today's "comedians." Who are the big stars today?

Louis Black and Dave Chapelle come to mind. Their stock and trade seems to be outrage and sarcasm,

Going back 20 years or so, I can point to Foxworthy, and others who had a different type of "shtick." It was funny, much of it a one-trick-pony, but funny nonetheless. Perhaps Gaffigan and Robin Williams.

Go back another 20 years, and you look at Youngman, Brooks, and yeah, Conway and Burnett. That was yet another genre.

Perhaps it all started to change with Chris Rock, or Richard Pryor, but it was a change.

Hell, I remember when Jimmy Kimmel was (almost) funny.

                Youngman is the best

Carson had a lot of good comedians, especially young guys before they got typecast, Albert Brooks, Steve Martin, Rodney Dangerfield, Don Rickles, Charles Grodin, Joan Rivers, George Carlin, Bill Cosby

                  Check out some British comedians.

Jimmy Carr, Peter Kay, Eddie Izzard, Bill Bailey...there's a ton of them.

                  I was only joking

You might like Nate Bargatze, George. He has at least one special on Netflix, maybe more. If he has more, I recommend earlier first.

                    Education is extremely important.
