Is anyone following the Aaron Rodgers flap? It kind of feels like media jumping the gun to nail down their headlines before they had all the facts. (I know that hardly ever happens; I'm as shocked as you are.) And creating a big problem for Rodgers.
Anyway, IMO Rodgers didn't lie. When asked if he was vaccinated, he said he was 'immunized', in this case receiving a treatment involving clay or something, I dunno -- supposed to increase his antibodies. At the time I think he didn't elaborate on this. Everybody assumed that immunized meant the same thing as vaccinated, which wasn't Rodgers' problem, what they assumed. You could accuse him of evasion, but you can't say he lied -- like the whole world is saying he did now. It's like if someone asked you if you had pie for dessert and your response was, 'I had cake'. Is that a lie? His honeybun is into all kinds of goofy Gwenyth Paltrow shit and apparently talked him into this clay thing.
He says he believes in 'body autonomy', which would be fine if contagion weren't involved. I look at this guy and I go, how can you be so smart and such a dope?
The NFL and NFLPA disallowed the clay thing under their protocols.
Anyway, he's quarantined and will miss Sunday's game against the Chiefs, disappointing Mahomes greatly.
Hoping for the best.

Oh, he fashions himself a leader not only of the team but of the public, just ask him. It's not about what poor Aaron has been pressured to divulge, it's how he has conducted himself in the role he has proudly assumed over the years. He volunteered all of his misleading information, and now he's all "I'm just a football player".

Well, they fined him and the Packers, so the NFL thinks he broke some rules. I think he broke some rules regarding masking up if not vaccinated.

Maybe so; I haven't seen every word printed on this issue. My own impression is that he fashions himself a 'critical thinker' and is contemptuous of mob-think. That's not the same thing as being a world's great thinker. But that's a small point.
What is frustrating for me is that Rodgers is paying a price the press should be paying, and isn't. They asked him if he was vaccinated and he replied that he was immunized. It was not Rodgers' job to educate the press as to proper interviewing technique. They should have followed up: Why did you answer that way? What is the difference? They didn't. They foolishly assumed the two things were identical. So now the meme all over everywhere is that Rodgers lied, when he didn't. The press screwed up. And everybody is hallooing after, including SNL -- kiss of death.
If this screws up his career, it will be a big crying shame.
(I don't think it will. $$$$.)
Rodgers isn't blameless. He didn't have to clarify his answer, but he could have avoided this whole mess if he had done so.
