The pendulum is just swinging. Place gets too (insert you tribal preference here) the other tribe mobilizes to counter it.

I don’t really think so. The swings are getting wider and people are getting angrier.

Let me point out that even with the insane left politics in my county that was at the center of the statewide swing that McAuliffe still won 55-45… that would indicate that on a local level from the board through the county commissioners that we can expect more of the same.

No matter how mad they get, they still only have one of two ways to go.

Besides, all this woke crap will be of short duration, I'm convinced. No way will such a silly and destructive movement last but so long. If for no other reason that the woke will grow up; wokeness is a sport of youth -- just like many rebellions that came before.

That's what they said about the Puritans, who had quite a bit in common with the woke.

Well, I don't actually know whether anybody said it. It wasn't recorded, probably because Paper was considered to be the work of Satan unless used for The Gospel.

Let me again point out that Loudoun County (which is at the center of this nonsense) still voted for more of the same 55-45. Fairfax County went 65-35. That means next election cycle the same board members and the same council members will be re-elected and we will still get more of the same. And every year the number of idiots in these counties will continue to grow.

Sorry, but I am very disheartened this morning. I feel like we just slowed the inevitable.

Nah, you just have to make sure you win by at least five points. That way, it becomes too hard for the Demonrat operatives to manufacture enough votes to defeat you.

Google has screwed with my 'For You' page so bad that I can't click with wild abandon like I used to, for fear I'll be cursed with every reference on earth to the clicky for the rest of freaking time.

I don't want to have to scroll past 10,000 references to James Carwile in my 'For You', so I can't send y'all the URL where he blames 'stupid wokeness' for Democratic losses in Virginia. I guess you can Google it if you want to read more.

Carville is right, as he often is.

But there is another phenomenon that can be clearly seen in my area, which is the corollary - the backlash against extreme right positions. That was the theme in all the local elections around this part of Ohio.

Both are healthy expressions of the center holding.
