One day while working at Fenway Park, I saw Earl Weaver, the Baltimore manager, steal 3rd base and throw it into the crowd.
A kid caught it and he was out of the stadium and down the street with the base in about 10 seconds.
The game was delayed for several minutes while they found a replacement base.

At the end of the video clip the thief was seen entering a door that says "the Chattanooga Institute." Might be useful information for law enforcement.
