          This place is somewhat akin to that South Sea island cave that a WW2 marine takes cover in. He knows he's in front of his platoon, the first marines on the island and he's become cut off from them. He strikes a match, just to see what creepy crawly things might be in the cave, and he notices scrawled on the wall...

            They put that in an obscure place on the WWII Memorial in D.C. I thought it was a nice touch.
