Not that we have any problems with transportation right now...

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on.

What other cabinet official has taken weeks of "personal" time off? He took a month off.

        A month.

But in all reality, is he really "off"?

When US President X goes on vacation, are they really on vacation? No, I dont think so.

I really dont think that they "walk" away from their job when you are at that level.

Even at my small potato level, when someone way above me goes on "holiday", they are still "plugged in" and keeping up to date on things. If I need something important from them, I will get a response.

“I have been fortunate and privileged to be able to have this leave, but I have still been available 24/7 on issues that can’t wait, issues that can’t be delegated and major decisions,” he said. “And one of those issues that I have been involved with throughout is, of course, that of supply chains.”

              https://dailycaller.com/2021/10/15/pete-buttigieg-democrats-paternity-leave-duckworth-psaki/

Buttigieg has been gradually “ramping up activities,” a White House spokesperson said, although “he was mostly offline except for major agency decisions and matters that could not be delegated… for the first four weeks.”

Buttigieg said on MSNBC’s "Deadline: White House" that despite his parental leave, he has been available “24/7” for issues. He also took a shot at Carlson saying he doesn’t understand parental leave.

“…. But what is really strange is that, you know, this is from a side of the aisle that used to claim the mantle of being pro-family. What we have right now is an administration that's actually pro-family,” Buttigieg said.

Well, if he's been available 24/7, he's certainly managed a cock-up of everything he is responsible for.
