First they came for the bows and arrows, but I said nothing...
Do you honestly think arming everybody would make things better?
Not sure about the bows and arrows comment - that was Norway, not the UK. This guy used a knife.
The guy in Norway was a Muslim.
The guy in the UK was a Muslim, too. They can buy weapons just like everybody else.

That's sort of my point.
Well, there appear to be a lot more killers in some countries than in others. Maybe it's the education system.

You're a racist.
If it walks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, it ain't a moose.

In my lifetime, there have been 6 British MP's murdered, 2 of them in the last 5 years.
4 were killed by Irish Republican terrorists, 1 by a Scottish white-supremacist, and 1 it appears by an Islamic terrorist.
Maybe they should just deport everybody.

Wow. I had no idea.
4 were killed by Irish Republican terrorists
Was this by one-on-one killings, or bombing, etc?
1 by a Scottish white-supremacist
Insert Mel Gibson quote here...

And a xenophobe.

Scottish white-supremacist
How funny that the Scottish think they're white.
-
@doctor-phibes not to make light of any of this, but I must admit that I have never heard the use of the word surgery as a political meeting.
You British are funny with our language.
I swear, reading your list, I thought what a weird coincidence that more than one MP was killed at a doctors office. Then I realized I must be missing something

I got paywalled out of NYT before I could copy the bit, but I gather 'surgeries' in British politics is the one-on-one meeting between the Member and a constituent. Phibes, please correct me if I'm wrong.
The bit also mentioned that Sir David mentioned in a book he wrote that surgeries needed to be done away with as dangerous for the Members.

The 25-year-old is being held under the Terrorism Act and officers have until Friday to question him.
The BBC understands Mr Ali was referred to the counter-terrorist Prevent scheme some years ago, but was never a formal subject of interest to MI5.
Whitehall officials told the BBC that the man being held was Ali Harbi Ali, a British man of Somali heritage.
Police said a man, who was held on suspicion of the MP's murder in Essex on Friday, was now being held at London police station after being rearrested under the Terrorism Act.We may never know the motive...
