And let's not forget the most patriotic people on earth - car dealers.
-
Are we really going to discuss people that abuse the flag?
-
Take your US flag down at night, people, unless you have it appropriately lit and it is an appropriate and patriotic occasion.
-
The proper way to retire an old flag or one that has been damaged or dirtied is to burn it. From now on, any time I see a flag t-shirt on some fat and sweaty slob with pit stains and bbq stains, I am going to retire that flag. Same with hats, same with ties, same with bathing suits.

So what's the point of all the US flags flying on people's lawns?
I dunno. You tell me...

@catseye3 said in "If this offends you":
@aqua-letifer And not even a thank-you for affording you an opportunity to show off your farflung knowledge?
Eh? How is any of that far-flung?

I'm really glad I grew up in an area where seeing that was not at all weird. The same motherfuckers who love watching
"Invictus" on Prime also find the Stars & Bars so scary that only insane racists would ever keep one around. -
On Victoria Day Holiday in May and Canada Day 1 July I fly the Red Ensign alongside the Canadian flag:
Sadly, like your Army of West Virginia battle flag, the Red Ensign and its heritage has been usurped and is now wrongly considered by some as offensive. Story here:
On 11 November, Remembrance Day, I used to fly the Red Ensign alone, but since Afghanistan, I fly the CAF flag in honour of the servicemen and women in all conflicts and peacetime:
I am sure some are working perverting that flag as well.

it is absurd to believe you can choose to be an outlier AND demand that everyone else treat you a certain way because of it
Even more so to agree with this
Which of course every politician, of a certain ilk, must

@horace As I have given you my word that I would no longer post to you with anything other than impersonal material, I am prohibited from answering your question.
Funny, you had a drop-in on that thread between me and Renauda with some pearls about hatred being eternal. I'll tell you what's more eternal. Stupid and crazy.
Amen, preach it, brother!! Truest words said today.

So what's the point of all the US flags flying on people's lawns? They achieve nothing. We all know we're in America, there's no point telling everybody.
How about the yellow ribbons for POW's? Again, no point to them. If you care, you need to get yourself out there in a Rambo costume and start rescuing people languishing in foreign camps.
I could go on.....
If you actually believe we fly the US flag to let people know where they are, it explains a lot...

Fly it. Fly it proudly.

I think you may have missed my point.
