@jolly so he’s healthy enough to be active duty - but the vaccine is the thing that’s going to bump him into permanent harm.
Based on what? I haven’t seen those studies.
Do soldiers get to make up their own risks?
This is bigger than one soldiers’ concerns.
No, it's not. This is America, not India, not China. While he may still be in the service, an individual still retains some basic rights. There is a distinct possibility of microclots or myocarditis with the vaccine. Some may be worse than others.
If he can show due medical cause for exemption, he should not have to take the jab. If the service wants to give him a Medical, fine. But unless you know what a dishonorable entails - and it's obvious as hell you don't - there is no reason to hang that millstone around his neck other than sheer punitive meaness.
It is indeed crazy to not have exemptions.
-
Well, what’s preventing him from showing a legitimate medical condition that would prevent him from safely getting the vax?
Presumably you can ask for a medical exemption to military doctors and they’ll assess it. I’m guessing he did that.
The issue is if you get to make up your own medical exemptions.
-
From the air forces own website - they have a medical exemption process:
Exemptions
Service members have the option to apply for medical or administrative exemption, including religious accommodations. The process for obtaining exemptions for all mandatory vaccinations is provided in AFI 48-110_IP, Immunizations and Chemoprophylaxis for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases, for medical exemptions, and DAFI 52-201, Religious Freedom in the Department of the Air Force, for religious accommodations. No exemptions from the vaccine will be approved solely because Airmen and Guardians have an approved retirement or separation date. -

Ah, reading comprehension is such a lost art...There are no medical exemptions, AFAIK.

You’re the one asserting reading comprehension deficits on my end. So what’d I miss in your slanted article?
Also if you read my link you’d see that it draws on a statute applying to all armed services.

It's for the Chair Force.
It’s not, reading comprehension guy:

Your own article from the Seal thread talks about how soldiers who get a religious exemption for the vaccine are treated differently for deployment than people who get a medical exemption.
Do you even read your own articles? Or are you just agreeing with the politics of the headline?
