Nothing really new, other than the continued slow decline.

But, a strange thing happened this morning. I was awakened at 4:30 by Boris slapping me on the foot. He's NEVER done that. Of course, I woke and the first thing I thought was that The Bee had died.

I walked out into the living room, and Maggie greeted me in the kitchen with a loud MEOW, something she never does. I looked around, and I saw Bee lying on a pad under the piano. She just looked at me.
Thinking nothing's new, I went to the front bedroom to read/catch the news, etc.

An hour and a half later, Bee was STILL there, and she was meowing at me.
I looked closer, and saw that she had gotten her left hind foot caught in a wire that was danging from the piano from the Dampp Chaser. She was stuck as stuck could be. I had to unwrap it (the wire was wrapped around itself about a dozen times) to free her.

Boris and Maggie both knew that something was wrong, and Boris thought enough to tell me.

      Amazing and fascinating.

Not the first time I've marveled at the secret world of animals' perceptions of the world. The things they know that we don't know they know.

That’s wonderful. Cats are social creatures.

We are going to meet Stella this morning.

She started her "real" decline about a month ago. The first thing that she started doing was sitting under my desk, on a pillow. Then, she started bringing her toys there. Then, she'd take her toys and put them in her water bowl.

She's probably about 16 now (we've had her 9 years, and D3 had her for 3). I don't think she's suffering, yet. However, walking is becoming difficult, and her hind leg gives way every now and then. She can't hop up onto the counter any more. She still eats, and drinks, however.

You can see how unsteady she has become:

Poor Bee. But she has had a good life thanks to your family. Another owner might have been unwilling to ride out her temperament.
