New cat
-
@bachophile as am I. However, I have 3 daughters and I could not say no more than once. We have a 16 year old tuxedo kitty who was raised by a dog and thinks more like a dog than a cat so he is OK. The 2nd one can leave any day. I will rejoice when that day happens.
Once they are gone, a cat will never again be part of this household.

I love them both, but MFR is not in favor of a dog at this time.
Indeed. MFR is not in favor of a dog at our age. Too much work. Cats can be low maintenance, and still good companions.
I have to wonder about the evolutionary differences between dogs (domesticated 12,000 years ago) and cats (6,000 years ago).

Hooray, new cat! What's the count up to at chez Mik?

She's doing quite well - a very good kitty. Sleeps with MFR most every night. Last night she snuggled up between her legs on the couch.
She's VERY curious. She heard scratchings and such in the wall while the Bell guy was installing the fiber line and I had to move her from the hole in the wall so she didn't get her eye poked out.
We have play time every night with the red dot and a host of other toys.
