Punish the Red States?

But demand from a handful of southern states has exploded since then, state and federal officials said, raising concerns they were consuming a disproportionate amount of the national supply. Seven states — Texas, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana and Alabama — accounted for 70 percent of all orders in early September.
So, we don't distribute it to where it's needed.
The imbalance prompted an effort to rein in control of supplies, over concerns that the government wouldn’t have enough on hand to respond to Covid-19 surges elsewhere in the country.
So, we can stockpile it in case it might be needed elsewhere, some time in the future.

Sotrovimab.
Since the government has bought up all the Regeneron and will control distribution, DeSantis will try to purchase Sotrovimab.
Until Biden tries to stop him.
I think you can write Florida out if the Dem column for the next Presidential election...

Florida has 12 Dems in the US House of Representatives currently. Wonder what 2023 looks like…

@lufins-dad we're still 13 ½ months away from the 2022 elections.
An eternity.

And they are quite literally cutting the amount of life saving medicine they are allowing Florida to receive. You think that gets forgotten?
-
@lufins-dad It might get forgotten, but I’m sure the electorate will be reminded of it, next September.

Still not too late to get the vaccine. Life saving medicine has been available for how many months?

The entire argument well said.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/18/health/covid-antibody-regeneron.html
Vaccine-resistant Americans are turning to the treatment with a zeal that has, at times, mystified their doctors, chasing down lengthy infusions after rejecting vaccines that cost one-hundredth as much. Orders have exploded so quickly this summer — to 168,000 doses per week in late August, up from 27,000 in July — that the Biden administration warned states this week of a dwindling national supply.
2000 Americans a day right now have made a fatal choice with everyone begging them to take a $20 solution…. And people are pissed that a $2000 solution is not at their fingertips. Who ever thought this would even be an argument someone would make::::

@loki not just economics. Hard to understand the rationale of people shunning vaccination because it’s “untested new technology” but beseeching to get antibody treatment which is helluva lot more untested and of unclear efficacy. And involves infusing intravenously antibodies procured from who knows whose serum, while shunning an intramuscular injection of mRNA which is all but denatured within about 4-5 days of injection, as anyone who has ever worked in a lab knows, nothing as delicate and unstable over time then RNA. It’s just dissolves into free nucleotides which can’t do anything.

Indeed.
And before the election various pundits (Joy Reid) and politicians (Kamala Harris) were saying they wouldn't not get the "Trump vaccine" because they weren't sure how safe it would be.
These same asshats are now singing a different song, because, well, as you pointed out, politics.
And also, what @bachophile said.

They do it because it works.
That's why.

There's plenty of stupid to go around.
And anybody who thinks it's all on one side just proves that politics makes us stupid, in a kind of divide-by-zero kind of a way.
