I think the way to look at it is comparing to public health crises in the past.
Such as what? Polio, AIDS, Ebola? What were the federal government mandates during that crisis, or any other of your choosing?
An aside, what, exactly, are the plans for implementing this? Are we going to need a(nother) federal agency to monitor, record, and punish those who don't comply?
Words are cheap, enacting them is hard.
You know there are big issues going on. A segment of people can’t even prioritize our public health and our economy and want to make this the burning platform. Mark this as another reason why America is not what it used to be. Small ball.
You know, the bigger the issue, the more important it is to hold true to your principles.

I will check back in this thread in a week to see if any predictions are right.
Which predictions are you going to check? In all fairness, you tend to see predictions where none exist. Can you be clear about the predictions you see in this thread which will be proven true or false in a week?

I got vaccinated. My family all got vaccinated.
It strikes me that if people spent less time going on about their fucking principles and just got vaccinated, we'd all be a lot better off.
-
Turns out, all that nonsensical TDS that infected the culture over the past four years, solidified some resentments and now, if you're going to look those people in the eye and try to shame them into doing something they don't really feel like doing, based on the principle that now it's YOUR life at stake, you'll be given the middle finger. This is life. Or death. It's all on the table.

Exactly.
Dr. Biden wanted to go full Australian, it was rumored.

This is why privacy has no place in the vax debate. I'm a big proponent of privacy, but when contagion dominates, there cannot by definition be privacy considerations. If you want to live among people, get vaccinated. Otherwise go live on the moon.

So what. Most people are vaccinated. And more were getting vaccinated every day, even as we learned the "vaccine" is ephemeral.
Some principles are worth planting a flag on a hill and dying over. Perhaps that is the difference between citizens and subjects.

Most have no more principles than a whore on Saturday night, after the fleet docks.
That s the end result of situational ethics and the lack of grounding in the modern person's life.

Yeah, and some aren't.
The problem is a lot of people can't seem to tell the difference.
As Mik said, this isn't tyranny, it's government over-reach. People need to be smart enough to understand the difference.

Maybe he’s just baiting the GOP to go full anti-vax so they’ll get crushed in the suburbs
Interesting how you and most other democrats work so hard at associating antivaxers with republicans. A recent survey shows that the two largest groups to be anti vaccine are 1. Blacks and 2. People with Phd's. Neither group are known for being Republican.
-
Yeah, I'm in one with my brother who states that fossil fuel industry and the GOP are why we don't have wind-power supplied railroads like the Netherlands. Those are his two default boogeymen for any given issue.
Never mind the fact that the Netherlands trains do NOT run primarily on wind power, that the county is less than one half a percent the size of America and that their railroad system is owned by the government versus ours which is not.

So, are the boosters mandatory as well? Sure was prescient of them to put 4 lines on the card, though we’ll likely need more spaces by this time next year. I’m just glad that we have such a foolproof method of identification for such an important issue.
By the way, as long as we’re on the subject of employers enforcing vaccinations, should I go ahead and gather my employees other vaccine information? Public Health, you know. Also, it really is foolish to not require flu vaccinations. They aren’t perfect, but if enforced, they will prevent some unnecessary deaths.

Silly man. It's all going into the national database and you'll have proof of vaccination on your cell phone.
After all, the Resident knows the government exists to help you...

So you think the graphic designer in charge of putting together the vaccination cards had secret knowledge that boosters were going to become mandatory.
I’m just glad that we have such a foolproof method of identification for such an important issue.
And now you're saying that well, the graphic designer had insider information on the behind-closed-doors booster requirement regime, but what you actually find odd is the fact that the card doesn't have magnetic strips and watermarks.
...have you checked for magnetic strips? If they knew about the boosters, what else did they know, and when did they know it?

You don't need magnetic strips now we've got 5G. The energy is high enough that the iron in your blood will transmit a signal.

Biden is literally taunting those that claim overreach. Have at it.
"Have at it," Biden said. "Look, I am so disappointed that particularly some of the Republican governors have been so cavalier with the health of these kids — so cavalier for the health of their communities."
He continued: "We're playing for real here. This isn't a game. And I don't know of any scientist out there in this field that doesn't think it makes us considerable sense to do the six things I've suggested." -

Whether or not the legality of Biden’s mandate will override the current March to mandates and limiting movement of non vaxxed. Measured by amount of media, legal challenges causing injunctions and how other institutions follow the lead. Indirect measurement, Biden’s approval rating shift as expressed in 538.

For me there is a public health crisis.
It stopped being a public health crisis about an hour after Mr. Fauci said masks were not needed.
Since then it has been all about politics.
There is a little health crisis mixed in there, but not for broadcast consumption.

Economy/hospital strain>Masks issue
Good luck winning a majority otherwise, but yes a significant minority (I’m guessing 35%) will feel otherwise.
