Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

I will check back in this thread in a week to see if any predictions are right. Kind of reminds me of how the media handled Trump and the winning ticket was to predict whether their story had legs a week later and you could generally say no and be a big winner.

Now that’s very funny but not for the reasons you think.

@loki said in Biden to mandate vaccination or weekly testing for companies over 100 employees:

I think the way to look at it is comparing to public health crises in the past.

Such as what? Polio, AIDS, Ebola? What were the federal government mandates during that crisis, or any other of your choosing?

An aside, what, exactly, are the plans for implementing this? Are we going to need a(nother) federal agency to monitor, record, and punish those who don't comply?

Words are cheap, enacting them is hard.

You know there are big issues going on. A segment of people can’t even prioritize our public health and our economy and want to make this the burning platform. Mark this as another reason why America is not what it used to be. Small ball.

I just bowed out of anther conversation where the shouts of 'tyranny! tyranny!' became overwhelming. It's not tyranny. It's overstepping authority, which is nothing new in America.

The main issue that worries me nowadays is how much influence complete idiots have in public debates. That's what's changed in the last 20 years. In the past, people had to actually do something to get heard. Now they just log on and started spouting shit.

                    I was only joking

Which predictions are you going to check? In all fairness, you tend to see predictions where none exist. Can you be clear about the predictions you see in this thread which will be proven true or false in a week?

Turns out, all that nonsensical TDS that infected the culture over the past four years, solidified some resentments and now, if you're going to look those people in the eye and try to shame them into doing something they don't really feel like doing, based on the principle that now it's YOUR life at stake, you'll be given the middle finger. This is life. Or death. It's all on the table.

if people spent less time going on about their fucking principles and just got vaccinated, we'd all be a lot better off.

This is why privacy has no place in the vax debate. I'm a big proponent of privacy, but when contagion dominates, there cannot by definition be privacy considerations. If you want to live among people, get vaccinated. Otherwise go live on the moon.

So what. Most people are vaccinated. And more were getting vaccinated every day, even as we learned the "vaccine" is ephemeral.

Small ball.

                                      Yeah, and some aren't.

The problem is a lot of people can't seem to tell the difference.

As Mik said, this isn't tyranny, it's government over-reach. People need to be smart enough to understand the difference.

Maybe he’s just baiting the GOP to go full anti-vax so they’ll get crushed in the suburbs

Interesting how you and most other democrats work so hard at associating antivaxers with republicans. A recent survey shows that the two largest groups to be anti vaccine are 1. Blacks and 2. People with Phd's. Neither group are known for being Republican.

Yeah, I'm in one with my brother who states that fossil fuel industry and the GOP are why we don't have wind-power supplied railroads like the Netherlands. Those are his two default boogeymen for any given issue.

Never mind the fact that the Netherlands trains do NOT run primarily on wind power, that the county is less than one half a percent the size of America and that their railroad system is owned by the government versus ours which is not.
