No one is listening Mollie except for your own tribe. That is the radius of your impact.
Fair enough.
Now dispute what she said.
Is what Biden proposes an abuse of power? Was the Ukraine phone call an abuse of power?
For me there is a public health crisis. It used to be that everyone fell in line.
Public health trumps all in my view. Period.
The country would be less crowded if we started shooting at least one child from every family. Wouldn't use up our resources nearly as fast.
Public health, you know.
I’m not sure how far that comment would go in school or a business meeting. You might get a timeout, LOL.

I guess I’ll keep responding but in the circles I am involved with it is no longer a topic of conversation. I think mostly because the way forward is considered settled. It’s been long enough actually.
You seem to think that I'm against vaccinations. Rest assured, I am not. In my circles, it's not a subject to discuss either.
My point was simply that the fact that Biden is doing this, by fiat, is probably illegal. It might be right, but I'd really like to see the law on this.

I don’t think you are against vaccinations. I also am not sure what the law is but I don’t the comparison is with Ukraine (just another snarky lazy smart ass what you get from people these days). I think the way to look at it is comparing to public health crises in the past.

The Resident just made it a huge topic of conversation.

Such as what? Polio, AIDS, Ebola? What were the federal government mandates during that crisis, or any other of your choosing?
An aside, what, exactly, are the plans for implementing this? Are we going to need a(nother) federal agency to monitor, record, and punish those who don't comply?
Words are cheap, enacting them is hard.

This mandate will spend months and months in court.
Lots of government proposals languish somewhere, even if or before they make it to court. It's just that most of them's sponsors aren't press superstars. Often the proposal isn't for the sake of whatever cause is being supported, but to collect attaboys from the folks back home. Or the party. Or the moneybags people.

I think the question is whether this gets Fast-tracked to SCOTUS.

I will check back in this thread in a week to see if any predictions are right. Kind of reminds me of how the media handled Trump and the winning ticket was to predict whether their story had legs a week later and you could generally say no and be a big winner.

Shifting from carrot to stick...

Along with 90% of the rest of them.

You know there are big issues going on. A segment of people can’t even prioritize our public health and our economy and want to make this the burning platform. Mark this as another reason why America is not what it used to be. Small ball.

I just bowed out of anther conversation where the shouts of 'tyranny! tyranny!' became overwhelming. It's not tyranny. It's overstepping authority, which is nothing new in America.
The main issue that worries me nowadays is how much influence complete idiots have in public debates. That's what's changed in the last 20 years. In the past, people had to actually do something to get heard. Now they just log on and started spouting shit.

You know, the bigger the issue, the more important it is to hold true to your principles.
