With the exception of the baby...

All my grandkids attend Christian schools.
-
Don't Christian schools always perform better?
How could they not?
People to Christian schools because they want an education.
People go to public schools because it is required by law.
Some public schools are terrific, but they have to accept everyone. That doesn't help the average.
-
I went to a Christian school, and look at the fucking state of me.
The key to getting a good education is to live in a nice area.

I think the key to a good education is having a parent/parents who are involved in your education.
Also, living in a nice area. Or having parents willing to drive to one.

15 years ago, Karla and I made the call to take the job offer in Northern VA because of the quality of the schools. 5 years ago we decided to move communities because of the quality of the schools (the schools we were at were going downhill fast while the schools in the next county over were on the rise). Today we’re having to look at private schools or moving again because of what’s happening to our district…

Details?
Loudoun County...
Where a teacher has to use the preferred pronouns of choice by the student or get fired.
Where if they disagree with that policy or other board policies and address it at a public forum (including School Board meetings) they will be fired.
Where students performing at higher levels will be made to continue to study lower-level coursework below their ability for the sake of equity. Honors and Advanced courses are to be discontinued.
Where white children are to be taught that their parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and so on were evil repressors and the sins of the father do pass on to the children.
Where African-American students are to be taught that they and their entire race are helpless victims and expectations will be lowered for them.
Where Hispanic, Asian, and other minorities will be told that they are in the same victim boat as the African-American children unless they are successful, in which case they are white-adjacent...
Where parents that publicly disagree with any of these policies are threatened, ostracized, and have their employers contacted and threatened.

No, it was done by some teachers and Loudoun County Public School Board Members.
Community get together have been very interesting this year. HOA, PTA, even frigging little league games are a complete mess.

Just sayin': I can attest to all of this. I lived in Loudoun County, and because of that my email was found by a handful of groups and now I'm on their newsletters—both pro- and anti-CRT. I haven't unsubbed because the shit that's going on is like my own private epistolary novel. Modern 1984, except it's Woke Karen turning the screws instead of Big Brother. It'd be entertaining if it weren't so insane. I keep reading just to know exactly how bad things can get elsewhere.
