What’s weird to me is that I saw on the news here, hours before, that there was hard intel about an imminent threat near Kabul airport, which means they knew something was cooking but still were not able to prevent a catastrophe.

What’s weird to me is that I saw on the news here, hours before, that there was hard intel about an imminent threat near Kabul airport, which means they knew something was cooking but still were not able to prevent a catastrophe.

Here's the thing, it very well could have been the Taliban, it could have been the New Al Qaeda. Could have been ISIS. Could have been one of our own Afghan interpreters and loyalists that feels betrayed. Hell, it could have been the French or any other member of NATO...

Honestly I'm not sure what they expected him to say, but he should have stuck to the facts of the incident, of which there are few right now. Apparently we are relying on the Taliban to screen people getting to the gates of the airport.
So the Taliban is the group preventing suicide bombers from getting to our troops. Let that sink in.
