    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/facing-revolt-police-chiefs-u-s-marshals-agree-change-body-n1277029

The report is about the Dept. of Justice changing its rules to allow local police department to release body cam footages in cases where people were shot during joint mission with federal marshals.

Apparently the federal agents typically don’t wear body cams so if there is any body cam footages at all, those would be ones recorded by the local police who do wear body cams, and up until recently the DoJ has barring the local police departments from releasing body cam footages.

This is a good change in policy. But if body cam is good policy for local police, it should also be good policy for federal marshals. I would also like to see the federal marshals wearing body cams as standard practice.

Meanwhile Phoenix has over 1,000 police vacancies it can’t fill.

Guess which people are most impacted when there are not enough police?

You can’t make this stuff up.
