Now, consider the prep guys who try to always gave a few on hand...It ain't as easy as some write about...

Well, fuck.
I've had some moderate problems with dizziness for the past two days. Haven't been able to shake it. When I lie down I'm pretty close to fine, but sitting or standing, I get pretty light-headed and my legs feel pretty wobbly.
Found the tick on Sunday, took an initial doxy dose on Wednesday, started the twice-daily 30-day program on Saturday night. I think I caught it early enough. Hope I did anyway.
This is gearing up to be a rather crappy month, but my main fear is that this doesn't go away after that and it's followed by worse shit.
My doctor's office is fucking worthless. Nurse Practitioner I initially spoke to was loathe to give me anything, and the doc I spoke to last week is absolutely convinced I have COVID. She wanted me to get properly tested at a facility that uses literally the same rapid tests we have here at home. I know that because I've gone there, asked what they used, and whether I could get the same kit for the house, which I can. So it's either go to the place and risk getting COVID to prove to a dipshit doctor I don't have COVID, or find a different doc. I'm going with option B.

You need a new doctor, preferably outside that organization.
Ironically I had to deal with these quacks because last week my doc was on vacation.
-
Yes, it's time to change docs.
Probably because I'm having a Cynical Day, I advise you to tell the new guy about your current symptoms before telling about all the business with the Lyme and the doxy. No need to telegraph him into a groove before you have to.
It's like, the patient relates all the symptoms of malaria and then says, "Do you think I have malaria, doc?" And the doc says, "Why, yes, I do think you have malaria! Pay on the way out, please."

Sorry to hear about these worries Aqua.
Before changing health care providers, be sure to consult with your health care provider.
Thanks, Horace. Hangin' in there.
Been taking Dramamine for the loopiness. Seems to be helping somewhat?

Aqua
Based on what I learned and what I went through I would not be concerned about long term issues. As I mentioned before it took me 3 weeks of being on the doxy before I felt any relief from absolute exhaustion. I really thought after 3 days of an antiobiotic I would be on the mend and I remember staring into my depleting bottle of Doxy thinking crap this is not working.

Regarding the COVID tests, remember that there is lot of concern regarding the at home tests since collecting the sample is a bit of a developed skill. It wouldn’t hurt to go to a drive through center…

I really, really don't think I have COVID. I feel completely fine other than the loopiness.

Well hell, that could be the Doxy causing that… Dizziness is a common side effect.

Started feeling this way 12 hours before I started taking it.
