Fauci on Sturgis

@loki said in Fauci on Sturgis:
Fauci said the same thing about Lolapalooza to Katie Couric at the time.
I wasn't aware of that.
"I was a bit taken aback by the film clips that I saw," he told Couric. "There were a lot of people crowded around together, and given the fact that we know that vaccinated people can spread infection, and even though we know that outdoors is always safer than indoors, there was a really lot of crowded that we saw in those films. So I got a little bit concerned about that myself. I'm pretty risk averse. So I would, even though I'm vaccinated, I don't think I would go to a really massively crowded place where you're essentially face-to-face with somebody. I would be concerned about that."
Good thing Mayor Lightfoot pays attention to the science.

Seems to me that Fauci gets blamed for a lot of stuff that other people do.
I don't really understand why he's become such a target. Plenty of people have fucked up a lot more than he has.

But he deserves to keep his job as the best paid Federal employee we have...

I asked someone about why the media is fixated on Sturgis but not so much on Lollapalooza. I did not know that there were mandatory requirements to be met to get in:
I cannot comment on actual enforcement or how easy it was to evade.

How about if Mr. Obama's party turns into a super-spreader event? I'm sure that the media will find nobody caught COVID at the party. Anybody who tests positive will have caught it passing by the Republican's house, which is three doors down from Mr. Obama's.

If it is spreader event you will never ever hear about it.
You, sir, are right.
